Your Emergency Visit :
Discharge Home and Aftercare
If you are sent home, you will be given aftercare instructions. These will be reviewed with you verbally, and provided in a legible document. The information in the aftercare instructions includes the doctor's diagnostic impression, a summary of laboratory and or other procedures, as well as instructions on what to do for a follow up after leaving the department. Often you will receive a prescription with an explanation as to what the medication is, and what it is for. Pay close attention to your aftercare instructions!
